I am in the same situation as you are right now. I am finishing up my last semester at Georgia Southern University. My top city is Chicago, I haven’t had too much luck but have been contacting people nonstop. I think the major problem I’m facing is that I’m not currently in Chicago. A huge part of me is just saying “Move up there, get a simple job, meet people, and get in that way!”
Let me know if you have any advice for me. I’ve been updating my blog periodically on my job search.

Hi Carrie!
It’s great to hear from another student in my position. I have not yet started contacting people, but I can definitely understand the difficulty of looking for jobs while outside of the city! Although my top city is Chicago (judging from that blog post), it looks like I may switch it to Atlanta. Right now, I’m doing the best I can to network and make contact with people there. It’s hard! The only advice I have (for the both of us) is to stay persistent and keep our thoughts positive. We’re both qualified candidates, so we will surely find an opportunity eventually!
I look forward to more discussion with you.
