Three of my friends and I made our bucket lists together back in 2009. Since then, it’s evolved and morphed into the list below (progress in green font):
- Make a significant difference in someone’s life
- Serve as a keynote speaker at a national conference or convention
- Teach an ESL class part-time in the United States
Currently serving as a teacher’s assistant in The Latin American Association’s introductory English class - Spend at least two weeks in a Spanish-speaking country to teach English
- Become fluent in Spanish and Tagalog (national language of the Philippines)
Nearly fluent in Spanish after studying in Mexico and 8+ years of study; began to study Tagalog in October 2011 and received Rosetta Stone Tagalog as a Christmas gift (it’s been great so far!) - Visit Binalonan, Pangasinan (Philippines) to meet my mom’s side of the family
- Travel throughout Spain
- Learn some French and Italian, then travel to major cities in each country
Took a semester of Italian and am comfortable at the beginner level - Snorkel in the Belize Barrier Reef (did you know it’s the second longest in the world?)
- Travel around Central and South America to see Chichen Itza, El Yunque, Machu Picchu, Buenos Aires, and Santiago
- Set foot in every American state and see something for which it is known for
States completed: Illinois, Missouri, North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, Washington D.C., New York, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Tennessee

Desiree – stumbled across your blog via FB tonight and have enjoyed reading it! Hope all is well with you! Also, Jonathan and I went to Belize on our honeymoon – you and Richard should consider going – we had the best time! xo
Char Mar! Hope you’re doing great!
All is well here. Thanks so much for the tip on Belize — we haven’t decided on a honeymoon destination yet, so that will definitely be one to consider! I’m glad to hear you’ve enjoyed reading my blog. That means a ton to me.
